Cross bobbins are winding reels in which the winding material is wound crosswise.

Triple G uses this method to process adhesive tape, films and other sliceable and windable materials into a cross bobbin in individual dimensions.

There are many names and designations for cross bobbins. The correct technical term is "cross-wound bobbin". In the adhesive tape sector, they are also referred to as long or large rolls. The designs can differ visually in terms of tape and reel dimensions.

Nevertheless, they have one advantage: they can be made from all materials that can be cut and wound. The aim is to produce or rewind the longest possible tape on a roll, which can be used during production without constant interruptions. Roll changes and corresponding set-up times are thus reduced.

Individual cross bobbin from 2 mm cutting width

One of our competitive advantages is our ability to cut and cross-wind tape materials according to your individual requirements. Depending on the type and properties of the material, the cross bobbins can be realized from a cutting width of 2 mm.

Individual running length up to 100,000 running meters

In addition to the individual cutting widths, it is also possible to realize individual running lengths of several kilometers by splicing the joints. Depending on the core width and material thickness, cross bobbins can range from standard lengths of 10,000 to extraordinary lengths of approx. 100,000 meters. The tape material is then cross-wound with straight edges.

Individual materials for winding

All materials that can be cut and wound can be processed as individual cross bobbins. In addition to the individuality of the dimensions, this is another advantage when it comes to adapting the tape material individually and precisely to your application. Not only the cutting widths and running lengths can be customized, but also the dimensions of the reel itself. These include core and winding widths as well as the desired reel circumference. Please note that all selectable properties influence each other!

Individual liner

Different protective covers (liners) can be used, especially for double-sided adhesive materials. Depending on customer requirements, film or paper liners are replaced during production to ensure a more adequate protective cover for the wound material.

Application aids for your bobbin

To ensure the smooth handling and processing of adhesive tapes and more, we integrate a number of features and aids directly on the tape material. These include, for example, positioning and application aids. Modifications can also be made directly to the material.
